Artist statment

My work consists of paintings, drawings, textile art, creating installations and artistic object. Art is a language in which I communicate with other people. I speak with colour, form, material.

Canvas is like a sieve – it sieves relations, emotions, every-day reality. Working on a painting gives me great satisfaction and feeling of happiness, but it requires also total commitment and sacrifice. It compares to communicating to another person. If we care about our conversation partners and we are careful listeners, the other person will reciprocate. If we are not really interested in the other person, we can’t “surrender” to the conversation, having to listen to them is just nuisance.

We will feel a sense of weariness, boredom, impatience. Painting, just like a person, requires complete devotion in conversation.
